Sparkly Fun Fridays features a sparkly or glittery project using shimmer paints, embossing powders, glitters, rhinestones... anything shiny to welcome the weekend in a fun way!!!
For today's Sparkly Fun Friday, I have a technique for you. I'm working on a mini album project and I needed a flower for the cover. So I grabbed 4 largest flowers from the Pretties Kit and made the exact flower I wanted!
The first step was to dye all four flowers with a mix of rubbing alcohol and Taken with Teal Craft Ink. I misted them with the mixture that I prepared in a spray bottle -- since I love this color, I figured I could prepare a good batch. I've had this bottle picture above for close to 6 months now and it's still very much usable! I made sure that I varied the hues of my flowers so that the completed one would look natural.
The next step was to spray all these flowers with a mixture of rubbing alcohol and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint. I loooooooooooove that spray. I need to make a bigger batch since I use it all the time. I also have to mention that I dried the flowers with a heat tool in between application of mists.
Then taking my hot glue gun and glued all the layers one by one, starting from the bottom one and molding each layer the way I wanted them. Because the glue remains hot for a little while, you can easily give your flower the shape you want. So now, all of sudden, the possibilities are endless!!!
And here's my finished flower...
It's all glittery because I added touches of Crystal Effects and Light Blue Fine Cosmo glitter. I love, love, love it!!!
As for the mini album, it'll be up on my blog sometime next week. I know, I'm teasin' ! :-)
Now go make some flowers! CeeCee
