Sweet Treat Thursday -- Little Book of Candies

Sweet Treat Thursdays are all about food -- our other favorite topic -- and features ways to embellish/wrap/present something edible. CAUTION: May be hazardous to your waistline!

Hi everyone,

Here's a little book of candies I found on a talented stamper blog I often visit, however I just can't find the specific blog post to show you the original projet that inspired me, if you know where it is please do contact me or leave a comments so I can share it with everyone.

I love it's size because It can fit candies but it is also the perfect size for a gift card, or even both... ;O)

The first thing that attracted me was the clever closure.

Have a nice stampin' day !!!

Whatever Challenge Wednesday -- skipping stone sketch challenge

Whatever Challenge Wednesdays features a challenge from the blogosphere, chosen randomly.

Hi everyone,

today I decided to play with the sketch from Maile Belle at skipping stone sketch challenge #56, here's the sketch:

Here's my take:

I'm so proud of myself. This is a collection I treated myself with last year before Chistmas and never got to use it "because it was too beatiful"... Let me tell you something, it's even better out of it's package !!!

Two 4 Tuesday... actually, it's a Three 4 Tuesday!

Two for Tuesday features 2 projects that are similar in either color, theme, layout or embellishment but... with a different twist!

Hi everyone,

I was having so much fun with my flowers ( you know me and my flowers!) that I made 3 cards intead of two! I've used the same sketch and leftover cut-up pieces from a class 2 years ago to created those. what I've changed is the placement of the dsp striped paper and the sentiment and used a different flower technique  for each.

card number one shows the stripes in the upper portion of the card with a pointsettia flower made with the 5-petal punch.
I then inked around the edge of each flower, sprayed each piece with a homemade shimmer mist and crumpled them. then i dried them with my heat tool and when i unfolded each piece it revealed a nice suede-like texture. I added some pearls in the center.

card number two shows the striped paper toward the bottom...

This time, the flower was made with multiple flower punched shapes through a homemade white glitter CS. This was a lot of fun to do. I also inked the edges of each patterned paper with Whisper White Craft Ink and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice EP.

And the last card shows the stripes in the middle:

This flower was made the same way as the 1st one but I sprayed each piece with a homemade solution of Perfect Pearls by Ranger and water. I added brads in the middle this time.

Quickie Mini Monday -- cardinal kisses

Quickie Mini Mondays feature a 10 minute-or-less project -- something fast, fun and easy to reproduce and mass produce.
Hi everyone,

For today' s card I used a scrap from friday' card, matted with wild wasabi and adhered to the card with a couple of stampin' dimmensionnals. In order to make it quick, I used a rub-on from the same collection.

with the dotted scallop ribbon border and the paper crimper, I made a custon scallop border to the heart shape.

a little ribbon and a button and voila!!

Sparkly Fun Friday -- teddy's xmas

Sparkly Fun Fridays features a sparkly or glittery project using shimmer paints, embossing powders, glitters, rhinestones... anything shiny to welcome the weekend in a fun way!!!

Hi everyone,

Today's card was made from glittery dots DSP from the candy cane collection, it's so shimmering and fun. I used a retired stamp called bearing gifts and simply colored it with claasic ink and a blender pen.

Here's a close-up of the coloring:

Sweet Treat Thursday -- A basket of Xmas Kisses

Sweet Treat Thursdays are all about food -- our other favorite topic -- and features ways to embellish/wrap/present something edible. CAUTION: May be hazardous to your waistline!

Hi everyone,

Every Christmas the craving comes back -- the craving for peppermint-flavored chocolates. And in preparation, I bought these chocolate kisses. I came up with a fun presentation that I'll be putting at each place setting during our Christmas dinner:

I used the Baskets & Blooms die for the Big Shot from Stampin' Up! I punched it out of the Jolly Holiday DSP.

That flower embellishment comes out of the same die; I just added some bling and leaves. I also added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the flower.

Even the tag comes on the die. I just added a sentiment embossed in white from the Tags Till Christmas stamp set.  It's a quick little project and I know that my family will appreciate the special attention.

Whatever Challenge Wednesday - Mojo Monday 169

Whatever Challenge Wednesdays features a challenge from the blogosphere, chosen randomly.

Hi everyone,

We're playing along with a sketch from Mojo Monday #169 today.

But I didn't make a card -- I decorated a tin in which I'll be putting a gift card.

I kept pretty much to the sketch... no improvising there. I chose an old Chattebox paper (Holiday Floral) with some Kiwi Kiss and Very Vanilla cardstock. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!'s Tags Til Christmas stamped in Chocolate Chip.

The focal point of my tin is my frosted flower -- the glitter is from Martha Stewart. They're so much fun to make and you can watch the video on how to make them here!

Hi everyone,

Meet today's cards, same, layout, same DSP, same stamp set, same ink colors but 2 different cards. How easy is that.

Quickie Mini Monday -- Frosted Flowers and a Video Tutorial

Quickie Mini Mondays feature a 10 minute-or-less project -- something fast, fun and easy to reproduce and mass produce.

Hi everyone,

Last night, I was having flashbacks of my childhood Christmases when we had those frosted-looking  houses underneath the tree, all full of glittery goodness. They looked good enough to eat. And now they seem to be back in style -- I seem them all over the internet. I wanted to recreate that look with flowers so i did an experiment... and it worked! I call them my Frosted Flowers.

Aren't they pretty?! I'm sure there are a few ways to make those, but I came up with my own technique. It basically consists of mixing water and PVA glue (or whatever glue that dries clear), dunking your flower in the mixture and sprinkling it with glitter.

And when you add ink to the glue mixture, you get a colored frosted flower like this one above I made with Tempting Turquoise and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

And then I got to experiment some more, this time with colored glitter. The one above was made with Martha Stewart's Fire Opal Glitter. It's by far my favorite. All that glitter yumminess!!!

To find out how you to make those frosted flowers, you can watch the video below or directly on YouTube .
