Sweet Treat Thursday -- Altered Tin

Sweet Treat Thursdays are all about food -- our other favorite topic -- and features ways to embellish/wrap/present something edible. CAUTION: May be hazardous to your waistline!

Hi everyone,

Today, we're going low-cal. Since I'm always trying to find healthy treats for Stuuph because of her diabetes, I came upon these yummy gluten-free pretzels that are actually tastier than the regular ones. So I keep a bag on my desk to satisfy my cravings. Unfortunately, the bag is quite unattractive and... we won't have any of that in the craft room! Things have to be pretty :-)

So I this tin in my "to be altered" stash and cracked, cracked open a pack of the new Celebrations DSP and went to work!

Ooooh, ain't she puuuuurdy?! I love my new pretzels tin.

In its original state, the tin was a dark green so I had to cover up the lid with some white gesso, then white acrylic paint. I went around the lid with a piece of 1/4" Real Red Grosgrain ribbon. For the top of the lid, I cut out a circle out of Pear Pizzazz cardstock, then added some self-adhesive die-cuts from the Celebrations Quick Accents. I made the flower for the top with Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon, a button and some thread.

For the label, I spelled the word "Treats" with the Vintage Type Rub-Ons inside a label die-cut, also from the Celebrations Quick Accents. I also added some Real Red Buttons dressed with Rhinestone Jewels in the middle.

I'm really loving the bright colors and my pretzels have never tasted so good!!!

Have a nice stampin' day! CeeCee
