Sweet Treat Thursday -- Little Book of Candies

Sweet Treat Thursdays are all about food -- our other favorite topic -- and features ways to embellish/wrap/present something edible. CAUTION: May be hazardous to your waistline!

Hi everyone,

Here's a little book of candies I found on a talented stamper blog I often visit, however I just can't find the specific blog post to show you the original projet that inspired me, if you know where it is please do contact me or leave a comments so I can share it with everyone.

I love it's size because It can fit candies but it is also the perfect size for a gift card, or even both... ;O)

The first thing that attracted me was the clever closure.

Sweet Treat Thursday -- A basket of Xmas Kisses

Sweet Treat Thursdays are all about food -- our other favorite topic -- and features ways to embellish/wrap/present something edible. CAUTION: May be hazardous to your waistline!

Hi everyone,

Every Christmas the craving comes back -- the craving for peppermint-flavored chocolates. And in preparation, I bought these chocolate kisses. I came up with a fun presentation that I'll be putting at each place setting during our Christmas dinner:

I used the Baskets & Blooms die for the Big Shot from Stampin' Up! I punched it out of the Jolly Holiday DSP.

That flower embellishment comes out of the same die; I just added some bling and leaves. I also added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the flower.

Even the tag comes on the die. I just added a sentiment embossed in white from the Tags Till Christmas stamp set.  It's a quick little project and I know that my family will appreciate the special attention.

Sweet Treat Thursday -- Felt Reindeer for Candy Canes

Sweet Treat Thursdays are all about food -- our other favorite topic -- and features ways to embellish/wrap/present something edible. CAUTION: May be hazardous to your waistline!

Hi everyone,

Oooooh, I had sooooo much fun with this project?! I bought a whole bunch of candy canes last weekend with a project in mind. I didn't quite know how to go about it until Gen pointed out a card she had made with punches and a sweet treat cup last winter. So I decided to replicate it, using felt.  But since I was using fabric as opposed to cardstock, the fun part was substituting punches that she'd used for Big Shot dies. And I did it! Check this little guy out!!!

Ooooh, isn't he cute?! I love him! Every single piece was cut out with dies and glued together with a hot glue gun. I used 2 Top Note pieces; one to hold the candy canes by making slits in the felt with a hobby knife and the other one to use as the face. Both pieces of felt are then glued together. Easy-peasy!

Here are the dies I used:
  • Top Note
  • Simple Letters Alpha "w,x,y,z,..." -- on that die there are tiny little circles which I've used for the inside of the reindeer's eyes.
  • Circles #2
  • Movers and Shapers with the Ornament magnetic die

I'm gonna be making a few of those to give to kids over Christmas.  I can see it being a good decoration on a gift also. You can add a little tag to one of the candy canes with the name of the person.

I'm going out to shop for a warmer kind of brown felt. I find this one is too dark.

Sweet Treat Thursday -- Nuggets Treat

Sweet Treat Thursdays are all about food -- our other favorite topic -- and features ways to embellish/wrap/present something edible. CAUTION: May be hazardous to your waistline!

Hi everyone,

Here's a quick and easy project for you --

1) Take your Stampin' Up!'s Two Tags Bigz Die and your Big Shot die-cutting machine and one layer of your fav DSP and another of coordinated cardstock.

2) Pass them through the Big Shot.

3) Glue the two together, taking care not to obstruct the slit at the top (trust me on this one).

4) Score at 1-5/8" and 2-1/2". Crease well with a bone folder.

5) With Mini Glue Dots, adhere 2 Hershey's Nuggets between the two folds.

6) Stamp "to - from" from the A Cute Christmas stamp set on Vanilla CS and punch out with the Large Oval Punch.  Write the names with a Stampin' Write Marker and sponge ink around the edges.

7) With a decorative paper clip, hang the name tag from the slit at the top.

8) Align the 2 ends of the tag together and use the hole made from the die as a guide to punch a hole through the 2nd layer and pass a flower brad through the hole.

Voilà! You've got yourself a quick and easy treat for a place setting or a just-because treat to give someone.

Love the yummy Jolly Holiday DSP. The colors are so fun -- Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive. And because the whole thing is held together by a brad, it's easy access to the chocolate... and THAT's what I like about it :-) After all, what's the point in giving out chocolate if you have to fight to get to it!

I hope you'll give this a try. Have nice stampin' day !!

Sweet Treat Thursday -- Dark Chocolate Slider

Sweet Treat Thursdays are all about food -- our other favorite topic -- and features ways to embellish/wrap/present something edible. CAUTION: May be hazardous to your waistline!

Hi everyone,

There's something luscious about the color purple paired with black that calls... chocolate to me. But then again, everything does to me! I'm a chocoholic. Here's a candy bar slider I just prepared for a special person:

I think it looks quite elegant. When you pull on the top ribbon, it acts as an elevator for the chocolate bar.

Inside is my favorite dark chocolate: Valrhona... so luscious... just like the color purple and the satin ribbon! I hope she likes it :-)

Hi everyone,

Remember this card I made for our talented crafty scrapbooker friend Marie-Pierre for the birth of her second sweet baby girl Maya?? Here's a little gift I sent her with the card .

It's a dry alphabet soup mix for scrapbooking... Lots of die-cut "M", "A"and "Y" for her pages along with some buttons and brads, see here what she already created with it.

Click on the photo for a close-up of the funny instructions I madeup.
