Whatever Challenge Wednesdays features a challenge from the blogosphere, chosen randomly. Here's our pick for this week:
Hi everyone,
For today's challenge, I decided to play along with Moxie Fab's Trigger Tuesday which is this awesome handbag (that I wouldn't mind having). I love, love, love those colors. They're so fun and vibrant.
And instead of creating the usual card, I decided to create a mini album in the same purse shape. I started out by making a template by drawing freehand then cutting that shape twice into chipboard. I then covered both sides of both chipboard cutouts with Old Olive DSP.
Because I needed a darker shade for the bottom, I first used a VersaMarker and Clear EP to cover the dots and then sponged Always Artichoke ink over the paper. That created the look I wanted. The flower are die-cut from the Daisies #2 Bigz Die for the Big Shot in Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink. I also used a 5/8" Circle Punch, a 1" Circle Punch and Kiwi Kiss Corduroy buttons for the middle of the flowers.
The closure is a piece of Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon tied in the front around another button, looped to the back and held by another flower. When you open the album, you reveal the mini album inside. It's a work in progress since I didn't have time to decorate more. I will come back with the fully-decorated album later this week.
