Sparkly Fun Friday -- Chalkboard Technique

Sparkly Fun Fridays features a sparkly or glittery project using shimmer paints, embossing powders, glitters, rhinestones... anything shiny to welcome the weekend in a fun way!!!

Hi everyone,

Today's project is not a in-your-face sparkly glittery one. The hint of glitter is subtle but because it is set against a black background, the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter really stands out. I'm been asked to come up with specific cards these days, thanks to two new customers who keep me real busy.

The technique used here is called chalkboard. You first stamp your image with Whisper White Craft Ink then dab colors using the Pastel Kit. I usually have to do a second coat of color before I'm happy with the result. After you let the ink/pastel dry a bit, you gently remove the excess with a tissue paper without rubbing over the image. I also went over some parts of the image with the Signo White Gel Pen to make the image stand out. To prevent the pastel from smudging, I sprayed the whole image with hair spray.

I then added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to some areas, let it dry, matted the image, added a piece of ribbon and voilà! It's such a fun thing to do and is really a "WOW" effect.

Have a nice stampin' day! CeeCee
