Sparkly Fun Friday -- Glittered Bookmark

Sparkly Fun Fridays features a sparkly or glittery project using shimmer paints, embossing powders, glitters, rhinestones... anything shiny to welcome the weekend in a fun way!!!

Hi everyone,

I'm an avid reader and collect bookmarks... why I don't have a handmade bookmark in my collection is way beyond me! So I decided to rectify that today.

I wanted something fun and well... sparkly. The two chipboard embellishments were done a while back ago when I was experimenting with different techniques. They'd been sitting on my desk for a while and I thought they were perfect for today's project.

The above photo is the reverse side. So basically, it's 2 pieces of cardstock sandwiched together to make the bookmark sturdy. The circles and the stars are punched out of Taken With Teal and Old Olive cardstock. But before I punched out the shapes, I did 2 different treatments to each color: 1) the cardstock was sprayed with a mixture of rubbing alcohol and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint ... 2) the other cardstock was glittered with a combination of VersaMark/Heat&Stick Powder/Dazzling Diamonds.

And now I finally have my own handmade bookmark {happy sigh}.

Have a nice stampin' day! CeeCee

That is such a great project to do with beginners who want to use their supplies for more than cards! It would be a great gift as well. I love the glitter! TFS :-)
