Two for Tuesday features 2 projects that are similar in either color, theme, layout or embellishment but... with a different twist!
Hi everyone,
Today I don't have 2 cards, but i think you'll still be happy with me. First, Let me tell you the story behind all this. Catherine, (aka CeeCee) is a big BIG F1 fan. Since I love her very much, I thought I would make her a special cake for her birthday. Since I also needed a card, I thought I should make the card to be assorted to the cake, so here's what I came up with:
Did you know that F1 racing cars had flat tires when it's REALLY hot !!! (I'm not a big fan but I don't think there supposed to!!!) I had to make the cake while we had a VERY HOT day. I know now that baking and working with fondant is not such a good idea in hot temperatures if you don't have A/C. The last thing I put on the car were the tires, they were perfectly round when I put them there, then when I woke up the next morning to find them all deflated !!! Oh well, what could I do, I just laughed and brought it anyway to Catherine. She was very happy with it.
By the Way her birthday is tomorrow, so don't be shy and wish her a very happy birthday.
Have nice stampin' day !!

As for the card, I was inspired by the cake but also by Catherine herself. As I was wondering how I would make a race car on her card since I don't own any car stamps. I saw my big stash of bits of ribbons, I thought about the video I had seen a couple of day ago that she made about ribbon flowers and I was struck by this idea :
bits of ribbons race car... Have fun with your ribbons and think outside the box.
By the Way her birthday is tomorrow, so don't be shy and wish her a very happy birthday.
Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black, SAB DSP Stack
Ribbon: Real Red 1/4", 5/8" and 3/4" Gros Grain
Other: Stampin' Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive, Glue Dots, Sticky Strip, white and burgundy thread (non SU)
