Sparkly Fun Friday : Happy birthday

Sparkly Fun Fridays features a sparkly or glittery project using shimmer paints, embossing powders, glitters, rhinestones... anything shiny to welcome the weekend in a fun way!!!

Hi everyone,

Besides being sparkly because it's Friday, today's card is also for Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge no55. Here's the sketch, I thought would be easy to work with...

Here what I created :
I have to tell you I had a really hard time doing this one...
First, purple/lavender (whatever it's called)...NOT one of my favorite color.
Second, I tried lots of different combination of papers but it was always looked too loaded (as least to my eye), so I finally found peace with this tone on tone whisper white piece that I ran through my paper crimper,

Third, the balloons... I stamped them on 3 different DSP and did some paper piecing, then I wanted them more shiny so I covered them with crystal effects, after drying, they were all curly, ok no problems, to the carbage and let's do it again, this time I "misted" them with some shimmer paint and alcool...not shiny enough even after 3 coat...finally I pulled out my good old Dazzling Diamonds and oh! how perfect !! Well, this is just to tell you how sometimes nothing goes as planned... but after all theses adventures, I'm really proud of how it came out and even if it's purple-ish, I love it, who would have thought ??

Have a nice stampin' day!

This is very pretty! I love how you put the white crimped piece on the white base.

This is lovely! I'm so glad you kept at it with the balloons because they look amazing with the glitter! Is that your handwriting? It's gorgeous!! The embossed background is so creative too!
