Two 4 Tuesday -- Cupcake bugs

Sweet Treat Thursdays are all about food -- our other favorite topic -- and features ways to embellish/wrap/present something edible. CAUTION: May be hazardous to your waistline!
Hi everyone,

today we had some critters on our cupcakes !! I just wanted to do something fast and fun and, while talking with my friend Marie-Pierre (go see her blog she's a fantastic scrapbooker), I remembered this pig. So, in the same collection of punched creations toothpicks, here are the spring garden bugs

Here are the punches I used : circle ¾ and 1 with heart to heart for wings. Dot dot dot stamp for the ladybug wings and I simply doodled the stripes on the bee with a basic black stampin' write marker. I added a little bit of white gel pen and some funny googly eyes. The little creature was then stuck on a large toothpick with a mini glue dot.
Now, the final result on the flower cupcake. I have to confess that those cupcakes were way cuter on the boxe of the pan. There is one simple yet good reason, they didn't turned out exactly the same...I had help, from my 2½ years old !!

Here for the details of the decorations :
  • William dipping the frosting (read: pressing really hard!!) into the blue sugar.
  • Baby Sara eating her whole hand imagining she will change my mind about her getting a sample of frosting... (she won!!)

Now you can William killing the cupcake with is bee sword.

Looking at this face, I can guess he loved it, and I was very happy to share some quality time doing this.

Sometimes you just don't need perfection in the results but in the journey to get to it.

Have a nice stampin' day
Gen

Comme quoi tu as VRAIMENT réussi!

I really like the critters! I could put them on paper clips and offer them as a teacher gift... Thanks for the inspiration :D
