Sweet Treat Thursday -- Going Healthy

Sweet Treat Thursdays are all about food -- our other favorite topic -- and features ways to embellish/wrap/present something edible. CAUTION: May be hazardous to your waistline!

Hi everyone,

Lately, I've been cooking and baking a little bit more than usual. Since my daughter and my husband are both diabetic, baking is a little bit more tricky. I have some recipes in my books given to me by my mother-in-law (also diabetic) and tonight I made a batch of mini Pineapple Carrot Muffins.

They look huge in that plate, but they're actually tiny, cute and yummy! Of course, an idea came to mind and I rushed to my studio to make this gift idea project:

Since I didn't have a mini clipboard in my inventory (time to order!), I took one of Stampin' Up!'s On Board Book Basics piece (small) and covered it up with some American Crafts paper from the À la Mode collection. The edges are sanded and inked with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The clip is a just a regular black binder clip that I modified with some Adirondack's Copper Mixative Alcohol Ink.

Attached to the clipboard is one of SU's Glassine bag (large) filled with 4 mini muffins. I clipped the bag to the front of the clipboard. I also decorated the bag with a tag and tied a piece of SU's Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon around it.

To the back of the clipboard, I've attached the recipe. The clipboard can then be re-used to collect and hold the recipes you use the most. I've even thought that I could attach the board to my overhead kitchen cupboard by a ribbon. That way, I'd have the recipe is right at eye-level and have the counter free while I bake!

I made myself a template in Word for the recipes, cut it to size and glued it to another piece of patterned paper.

Here's a tag in lieu of a card for when I give the muffins and the pegboard as a gift. The stamp set used is also from American Crafts and is called "Washer"... weird as all the stamps are kitchen related. I embossed in white the little chalkboard and the scalloped border.

and in the back, a little written message.

I think this would make such a perfect host gift when you're invited to dinner, don't you think?

Have a nice stampin' day! CeeCee
