Two for Tuesday features 2 projects that are similar in either color, theme, layout or embellishment but... with a different twist!

Today's cards were an accident, I was doing a Quickie mini monday card but then, in order to glue the DSP in place, I flipped it to discover... the other side was also working very well with the sketch I had in mind. Since I was not able to decide which side I loved the best, I did 2 cards.

This is the original, quickie mini monday wannabe... You still can do it under 10 minutes so it really is a quickie mini monday card.

I love so much the bright combination of colors in this DSP, it's called Play date by Stampin' Up!, I also used their new Extra-large Scallop circle punch, with a combination of 3 other circle punches. Coordinating CS and/or ink are Old Olive, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise, Chocolate Chip and Real Red.

Quickie Mini Monday -- Love Letter for a Friend

Quickie Mini Mondays feature a 10 minute-or-less project -- something fast, fun and easy to reproduce and mass produce.

I'm so enjoying Stampin' Up!'s new Designer Series Papers. This one is amongst my favorite: Love Letter DSP (#117162). With gorgeous paper like that, it's pretty easy to put together a beautiful card without too much fussing.

One of the papers in the pack has a repetitive pattern of a beautiful medallion so I decided to isolate it with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch (#119850). Then I stamped a sentiment from the Great Friend stamp set (#113792) with Basic Black Classic Ink (#101179) unto Very Vanilla Cardstock (#101650) and punched it out with the 1-3/8" Circle Punch (#119860). With the Circle Scissor Plus (#112530), I cut out a 2" circle out of Riding Hood Red Cardstock (#111348) to mat the DSP circle. Then whole thing is popped unto a Very Vanilla scallop circle made with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Extra-Large Punch (#118874).

The card base is Very Vanilla, then I added a mat of Riding Hood Red Cardstock to the polka-dot paper from the Love Letter DSP. Of course, no card wouldn't be complete without ribbon or trim so I added a piece of the lovely Victoria 5/8" Crochet Trim (118481).

I've also added a tiny pearl from the Basic Pearls pack (#119247) to dot the "i" in the word friend. You can click on the picture to get a better close-up.

Sparkly Fun Friday -- Make your Own Glitter Embellishment

What do you do when you can't find the right embellishment? You make it! Today's Sparkly Fun Friday sparkles, shines and glitters! This is the card I gave Gen for her birthday. She's been dealing with 2 sick kids and a long heat wave so I thought she could use a little glitter in her life right now... well a lot of glitter, actually.

I had an idea of a cake embellishment with different colors of glitter and it was obvious that I'd have to make it to get exactly what I wanted. My inspiration for the colors was the patterned paper with its bright colors. So I reached for Stampin' Up!'s Sticky Pages (#114300) my basket of glitter and went to work.

Here's how I did the cake:

Step 1: I drew the cake on the reverse side (white side) of the Sticky Page and cut around the image. I then removed the pink plastic protective layer and glued the embellishment on white cardstock.

Step 2: Using the Hobby Blade peel the first layer of the drawing you want to glitter to expose the adhesive, taking great care not to cut through all the layers of paper. It actually is easier that it looks!

Step 3: Sprinkle orange glitter over the exposed area.

Step 3: Repeat Step 2 for as many layers of colored frosting you have. Once done, remove all the lining of all the other areas which will be glittered with Stampin' Up!'s Dazzling Diamonds.

Step 4: Sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds all over the exposed adhesive. Shake off the excess glitter.

Step 5: Cut around your image, leaving a white border, and you're done!

Imagine all the possibilities using the Sticky Pages. I think they're fantastic. They also can be cut with the Big Shot die-cutting machine. I've used it in the past to create glitter flowers, like in this post here. Ooooh, the possibilities are endless! So I hope you try this technique and have fun coming up with your own embellies. Sweet Treat Thursday -- Cupcake tin

Hi everyone,

I had this cute little tin for quite a while now and I finally got to play with it. Here's what I came up with:

I transformed it to be a cute mint-chocolate container. I have a friend who loves (almost as much as me) the combination of chocolate and mint so when I found these chocolate chips at a local bulk store, I couln't resist but to buy her some. But I needed a storage box and my clear window tin came in handy.

This project would qualify for a quickie mini monday, since it's so simple it could be a perfect party favor, to give candies, tea, coffee, homemade hot chocolate mix... Even ribbons, buttons or any embellishments if it's a scrapbooking party!!
For a change, all supplies are non SU!, and besides the cupcakes stickers from Martha Stewart crafts, I have no idea where the tin, paper and ribbon came from, I had them for a while in my stash...

Whatever Challenge Wednesday -- A page and 2 challenges

Hi everyone,

Today I have a scrapbook page to share with you. I always want to do more pages but times flies...I'm not completely satisfied with it so I might change little things eventualy and I will do another one for sure to complete it. I always do 2 pages layout because I find it more pleasing to the eye when I look at my scrapbooks. So today I played along with Curtain Call Color Challenge and Sue's challenges for the sketch :

Here's my page, I chose to use the sketch as a starting point for a 12 photos/2 pages layout. I will have one photo per month from birth to 1 year old. so now you have a glance at the first 3 months of my now almost 3 years old sweet boy.

As directed by the challenge, the colors are : Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, Marina Mist and Whisper White. Letters were made with my big shot, timeless alphabet dies and sticky note mini alphabet set (non SU!).

Quickie Mini Monday -- Circles birthday

Quickie Mini Mondays feature a 10 minute-or-less project -- something fast, fun and easy to reproduce and mass produce.

Hi everyone,

Today fast card was actually made out of leftover punched DSP from another card. I just added some buttons and a sentiment, very easy and versatile.

I used Play Date DSP, Old Olive and Whisper White CS, old and new Stampin' Up! buttons and Old Olive Classic ink with the round sentiment from crazy for cupcakes stamp set. For the main image, I used Real Red and Old Olive Stampin' Write markers to color the flower and stem from Hello again stamp set. I could have threaded the buttons with faux-thread ( AKA thin strip of cardstock), but then it would not have been a 10 minute card...
